The Platinum trim level provides 400 horsepower and 480 pound-feet of torque with the same engine. A 10-speed automatic transmission and rear-wheel drive are standard on all Expeditions. The Expedition offers a best-in-class fuel efficiency of 17 mpg city, 24 mpg highway, and 20 mpg combined.

Four-wheel drive is available as an upgrade and comes with hill descent control and a Terrain Management System. The Terrain Management System has seven drive modes that help the vehicle adapt to different conditions. Both 2WD and 4WD are available for all modes. Seating

The base trim 2020 Ford Expedition seats eight with front captain’s chairs, a 40/20/40 reclining fold-flat second row, and 60/40 fold-flat third row. Move up a trim level to the Limited, and you have the option to feature tip-and-slide captain’s chairs in the second row instead. This reduces the seating capacity to seven but makes it easier to access the third row. Second-row captain’s chairs are standard in the King Ranch trim and optional again for the Platinum edition.
